Mbabane – INSTACASH is keen about sports development.

Yesterday the fast-growing Fintech company presented a E50 000 sponsorship towards women’s football. The Eswatini Women Football Association (EWFA) Chairman Bonginkosi Mhlanga, in the company of Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu received the E50 000 replica cheque during a sponsorship launch event held at Sigwaca House in Mbabane yesterday evening. The sponsorship will go towards a senior women’s football knockout tournament which will be played for two weeks and the dates will be announced in due course.

This would be the first knockout tournament for women’s football apart from the annual Women’s Football League (WFL) sponsored by EFA. INSTACASH has in the past injected for sponsorships in all the various regional leagues and EWFA is the fifth beneficiary. First to receive the financial boost was the Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) that got E130 000. Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) received E80 000. Shiselweni Regional Football Association (SRFA) and Lubombo Regional Football Association (LRFA) got E160 000 and E120 000, in that order. INSTACASH Communications Manager Bongani Dube assured EWFA that this was the beginning of a long lasting relationship, adding that women were their biggest target market and were keen on empowering women in sports and in the business sector.

“The top eight women’s football teams that will register the most number of INSTACASH clients will qualify for the knockout tournament. We are happy to partner with EWFA because they are our target market. Apart from the sponsorship, we are bringing financial inclusion and presenting employment opportunities as they will earn money through the recruiting process,” Dube said. EWFA chairman said the sponsorship would help the players to have more game time in a bid to improve the football skills in order to excel even in international competitions. “Thank you to INSTACASH for the sponsorship because our main challenge was the lack of sponsorship. Now the teams will have more game time, it will improve the quality of women’s football,” Mhlanga said. EFA President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane said the women’s national team would now have less of an excuse not to deliver good results.
