MBABANE – The new executive has a serious challenge at hand.

The Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) executive, led by the new Chairman Vusi Hall, has a huge challenge in recovering the outstanding E221 336 money owed by teams. This amount reflected in the MRFA’s financial statement read by former Secretary General Themba Mavuso during the elective annual general meeting held at Salesian High School recently.

Mavuso was on the day elected as Vice Chairman while Hall replaced former Chairman Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza, who had not been nominated for the elections. The five executive members included Zwelethu Dladla, Lusekwane Dlamini, Mduduzi Mtsetfwa, Manqoba Mahlindza and Mduduzi Tsabedze. When asked about the recovery strategic plan of the outstanding debts, the chairman assured to have a detailed report following an executive meeting planned from this afternoon. He, however, hinted that recovering the money would be a challenge as the teams were also broke and the association’s major income was generated through teams’ affiliation fees of E385 934 and Eswatini Football Association  grant adding up to E266 809.

“We have a meeting tomorrow (today) and most of the things will be discussed in that meeting including how we are going to recover the money from the teams. We haven’t appointed the committees and that too is in the meeting’s agenda. We will share an update as soon as we finalise everything as an executive,” Hall said. Meanwhile, the executive still has a task to investigate claims of the usage of fraudulent players’ licences among some of the teams. This was disclosed by the former chairman during the AGM, alleging that the teams were purchasing the cards for about E150 on the black market.
