‘OWA’ LEADS SCORERS CHART

MBABANE – The race for the MTN Premier League top goalscorer award is gaining momentum.

Young Buffaloes and national team Sihlangu’s sensational winger Bongwa ‘Owa’ Matsebula is setting the pace after scoring a hat-trick against Green Mamba, to be a joint top scorer with rookies Madlenya forward, Njabulo Maziya. Following the pair with two goals is Mbabane Highlanders striker Josef ‘The Beast’ Lekata, Denver Sundowns’ Mike Dombo and Madlenya’s Sethu Ngcamphalala.

Meanwhile, last season’s goal-poacher in Young Buffaloes talisman Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze, who scored 26 goals has visited the back of the net once, alongside the runners-up Green Mamba’s marksman Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. According to the 2022/23 MTN Premier League Rules, the top goalscorer will be awarded E12 000 for his effort this season.
