MBABANE – “Magawugawu is our player.”

Moneni Pirates Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mbuso ‘Minister Kingdom’ Hlophe boldly revealed that their skipper Menzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane was the ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni player as he was back at training. The former Mbabane Swallows defender has been linked with a move away from the buccaneers in recent weeks, with cross town rivals Manzini Wanderers even confirming to have captured the signature of the experienced defender. “Menzi is our player as he reported for training last week and today he was with the other boys sweating it out at Enjabulweni School sports ground,” Hlophe said.

He said no team ever came to them to request about the player in an aim to sign him for the new season, which got underway last week. “All the important documents for ‘Magawugawu’ are with us, so we were amazed to hear that a certain club claimed ownership of our player,” he said.
Hlophe said the player would remain with them until someone comes and table an offer for the former Sihlangu player.

Registered

When asked if the player was registered with Pirates for the new season, the PRO revealed that they were currently working on that, but they would give a full update once everything was finalised. He further said there were a lot of logistics that as a team they were working on including the issue of beefing up the technical bench as well as the squad, but he clarified that currently there was no coach they had identified. No comment could be obtained from the player as his phone was unreachable by the time this report was compiled.
