EZULWINI – It is mission accomplished for MoMo Cup sponsor MTN Fintech Eswatini and partner PLE.

MoMo Cup sponsor MTN Fintech Eswatini and the  Premier League of Eswatni (PLE) had undertaken, in good faith and without consequence, to set a target of a minimum of 100 000 votes.  When the curtain fell on the voting exercise this past Sunday, the 28 teams collectively raked in 200 515 votes, which was more than double the target. As per Article 4 of the MoMo Cup Rules and Regulations, all Premier League clubs that reach 2 000 votes will each receive a participating fee of E10 000 at the prize presentation ceremony. Only Leopard (173) and Tambankulu Callies (1 153) failed to reach this target. The remaining 12 teams will equally share E120 000.

In the National First Division League, all 14 teams hit the 1 000 votes to also qualify for the E10 000 incentive. This means E140 000 will be equally shared by the teams. Among the National First Division teams, Rangers are the biggest earners as they will also get an extra E100 000 for reaching the semifinals of the tournament.

Meanwhile, voting will continue for teams that are through to the semifinals. From tomorrow until October 23, the three ‘new’ seeded clubs in Moneni Pirates, Rangers and Nsingizini Hotspurs will begin voting for the opponent they wish to play in the semifinals. They may choose one of the two seeded clubs or the winner of the play-offs. The PLE and the teams will also benefit from the gate collections. (More reports and reactions in next edition)
