‘MANYOVU’ IN E130K TRANSFER HURDLE

MBABANE – He did not turn up when his police outfit, Royal Leopard, expected to meet him.

This is according to information sourced from Leopard where the player is expected to return after a two-year contract was cut short by Angolan giants, Esperanca Sagrada, only several months into it since making the move early this year. That is speedy winger Bonginkosi ‘Manyovu’ Dlamini, who is now linked with the capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows.

Following the contract termination, the agreement was that Sagrada would clear the former senior national team Sihlangu winger back to his police employers as he serves as a police officer too. However, he was granted a two-year unpaid leave, which essentially triggers the interest from the civil teams. Sagrada had also agreed to pay Leopard E250 000 transfer fee, but the Angolans reportedly only paid E120 000 and issued the clearance. This means Sagrada left a balance of E130 000 and this could be the starting point for any team interested in his services, especially if he was to be allowed to play for a team of his choice given his no-show yesterday.

Terms

Also, it has been established that Leopard can let him go only if their terms are met. Judging by these words, teams must be ready to pay. He also said the agreement they had with Sagrada was that ‘Manyovu’ would return to Leopard if he fails. “They were supposed to pay us E250 000 but paid only E120 000. They still owe us but it doesn’t matter anymore as he is back at home. We are even surprised to be seeing some reports in the paper when Manyovu had not even come to us to explain what was exactly happening. We had to summon him on Monday to get his side of the story,” Royal Leopard Manager Richard Danka Fakudze said.

Explaining further Fakudze said: “We are ready to let him go. We have won the league without ‘Manyovu’ so we won’t stand in his way if he wants to join Highlanders or Swallows. We want this to be done the right way. We met with him on Monday and he said he would think and come back to us on Wednesday, but he has not returned yet,” Fakudze said. He also disclosed that they had not registered him since he was undecided. “We will go after him, he has to come back to us and tell us what exactly he wants. Sagrada terminated the contract and handed us his clearance. Any team that wants him has to talk to us and ensure that they adhere to our terms,” said Fakudze.

Job

Asked about his police job, the manager said he was on a two-year unpaid leave. “We spoke with government to grant him the two-year unpaid leave. We have to go back to government and report that he is back. Government will then say if he can return to work now or after two years,” he said. Meanwhile, ‘Manyovu’ gave a brief comment. “My brother, can you give me a week, for now I have not decided if I return to football or not. I’m just at home for now,” he said. It remains to be seen where the player will end up. He has until October 8 this year before the transfer window shuts.
