MBABANE – “I can’t describe the situation I’m currently in.”

This was said by Manzini Wanderers deadly striker Njabulo ‘Koko’ Gama after he sustained a muscle pull in the finals of the 2022 Bible Society Cup against Mbabane Highlanders on Saturday at the Mavuso Sports Centre. The maroon and white outfit failed to defend the title which they have won three times since it’s inception in 2017, after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Inkunzi emnyama in an entertaining game watched by over 3 000 fans over the weekend.

Tormentor

The former Tinyosi goal poacher was the chief tormentor of Black Bull defence until he was stretchered off the field in the second stanza due to the injury.‘Koko’ was due to return to South Africa to continue with his two-week long assessment by Mpumalanga Black Aces. He returned to the country last week Thursday to help his side in the ‘Holy’ Cup. The speedy forward said he was frustrated by the injury as he could not make the trip back to South Africa to continue with the trials. “I don’t have words to describe the situation I’m currently in; this injury is frustrating me. I was hoping to win a contract with Aces, after I impressed in the first week of the trials,” Gama Said.

Situation

He also said that Amazayoni as the South African side is fondly known in football circles had sent an official to watch him in a game situation.“I went to Medsun Clinic for a scan, but surprisingly the doctors did not find anything yet I can feel the unbearable pain on my muscle,” he said. Manzini Wanderers Chairman Mlungis ‘Mluka’ Ndzinisa could not be reached for comment as his phone rung unanswered.
