MANZINI -  Vovovo goalkeeper  Innocent Adja saved the team from relegation.

This, after he saved a Fabrice Mopina penalty at the stroke of half-time to deny Manzini Wanderers a win in their own backyard in Manzini yesterday. The game ended in a goalless draw.
The point turned up to be the most valuable for the away side as it confirmed them a place in the elite league next season.  This is because all the four teams in the drop zone will not match their 37-point tally. Teams currently flirting with the chop are  Tinyosi, Rangers, Malanti Chiefs and Tambuti. The home side are still on the seventh spot following that Green Mamba who could have leapfrogged them, had their game abandoned due to bad weather. Mamba were leading 2-0 against Moneni Pirates, courtesy of Banele ‘Banny’ Mdluli’s strikes when the game was called off.

Meanwhile, the penalty came after Njabulo ‘Koko’ Gama was brought down inside the box by Mncedisi Dlamini and referee Letticia Vianna pointed to the spot amid protests from Vovovo fans. Fabrice Mopina took the honours but Adja pulled a brilliant save just at the stroke of half-time, parrying the ball away to safety. Just after resumption, the game was marred by drama as a Wanderers fan had to be blocked from trespassing into Vovovo technical bench, after the fan suspected foul play by the visitors officials. Police officers saved the day. There were no clear cut chances for both sides in the second half and the match ended goalless.
