MEHLULI FACES EXPULSION AT VOVOVO!

MBABANE – Vovovo Football Club director Mehluli Nhlengetfwa faces expulsion at the club, barely eight months after joining the Motshane-based outfit.

Nhlengetfwa took over as sole director after the demise of director Sipho ‘Tsetla’ Bhembe in early December. In a letter written to Nhlengetfwa, dated April 11, 2022, the club management has given the former Manzini Wanderers director a seven-day notice to terminate the contract he signed with Bhembe. The club management claimed it had been mandated by the late Bhembe’s wife, Thabsile. “We, being the management of Vovovo and having being instructed by Thabsile Bhembe (wife to Sipho Thulane ‘Tsetla’ Bhembe), do hereby, inform you that the Memorandum of Agreement entered between Vovovo FC and yourself is now formally invalidated. Reason being the untimely demise of the club owner, SiphoThulane ‘Tsetla’ Bhembe,” part of the letter sent to Nhlengetfwa reads.

The letter further states that he (Nhlengetfwa) is at liberty to suggest a date where the two parties can meet and iron out the pending issues. “Please note such a date must be within 7 days of receipt hereof. Failing which a date shall be given to yourself and non-attendance thereof to be taken as consent,” reads the letter in part.

Attempts to get a comment from Nhlengetfwa proved futile last night while the club’s Head of Marketing Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini declined to comment on the issue. “I don’t know anything about the letter I think there are numbers on that letter you can call and those people are in a better place to comment on what you are telling me,” Dlamini said briefly. An official from the club, who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity, told the Times Sports Desk they wanted a meeting with Nhlengetfwa because the wheels had long come off.
“He has been away for two months now, we have lost a number of players and we lack the basics. That’s why we have decided to write this notice of termination of the contract so that we can be able to meet him and iron out issues. The club is struggling in a very sad way and everybody can see things are just not right,” the official said. Vovovo beat Manzini Sea Birds 1-0 on Sunday, just a few days after being humbled 6-2 by ruthless league defending champions Royal Leopard midweek.
