ECA DELIGHT IN IMPROVED YOUTH ATTENDANCE

MANZINI – The Eswatini Cycling Association is delighted with the improved attendance from the youth.

This was during the Enjabulweni MTN Race which started and finished at the school premises on Saturday. About 70 per cent of the about 120 attendance was youth and junior riders. These comments were said by ECA President Sifiso ‘Zwide’ Ndwandwe after witnessing the mountain bike race. “The event was well attended and a great success, thanks to Enjabulweni School for their efforts and the cyclists for braving the weather and coming through,”he said.  Ndwandwe said from the association perspective, it’s encouraging to see the number of young cyclist.

“We need to look at strategies on how we keep these young ones participating and growing in the sport as today has shown there’s definitely a huge interest at this stage of their development,” he said. He said they were also happy about to see the sponsors come out to support this race. He said they were looking forward to more mutually beneficial partnerships with them as they continue to grow and develop the sport. Meanwhile Enjabulweni MTB Race Head of Cycling Committe Janine Thomas said they were impressed by the attendance despite that it was raining. “We want to thank everyone who came and made this race a success. This race is about conmecting the school to the community.We is glad to have seen some families attending and cyclists from different club,” said Thomas.
