MBABANE – There is a new sheriff in town!
That is MTN National First Division log leaders, Nsingizini Hotspurs, who are setting the pace on and off the field following their groundbreaking partnership deal with South Africa’s DStv Premiership side, Amazulu on Wednesday. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two sides was signed in Durban with Amazulu President Sandile Zungu representing ‘Usuthu’, while Nsingizini Hotspurs President Derrick Shiba represented ‘Izinyoni Zezulu’. Also in attendance was Nsingizini Hotspurs Board of Governors representative and team legal advisor Zakhele Dlamini.
According to a statement released by the First Division first round champions, the renewable four-year partnership will be on sharing programmes, technical and tactical expertise, transfer of players between the two parties as well as possibilities for training camps and friendly matches. “Nsingizini Hotspurs are currently cruising as log leaders of the MTN National First Division league and Amazulu are currently sitting within the top 8 of the DStv premiership in South Africa and it’s not in doubt that such a partnership will be a huge benefit to both parties,” part of the statement reads.
Nsingizini Hotspurs President Shiba said they were excited as a family about the opportunity that has been created through the partnership which will give players a chance to grow.
“It has also created a big brother for us, one that we will not only keep help from but would also give support here and there,’ Shiba said. On the other hand, Amazulu President Zungu said they were also happy with the partnership which will not only enable them to widen their net for talent scouting, would also allow them to spread their wings with a branch of new followers in Eswatini.
