Leaders Mbabane Highlanders are still the most watched team in the country – this effectively means they have the most the COVID-19 vaccinated fans as the numbers have been showing in their matches.

This includes the biggest fixture in the land, the big capital city derby against Mbabane Swallows, where they outnumbered both Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Swallows fans on their allocated grand stand. Second in command here has been Moneni Pirates. The Sea Robbers of Moneni, like Highlanders, have displayed some of the best football in the league this season, which has ensured their supporters watched them live during games and they also come in very good numbers. This, probably is the reason the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has not given the week’s biggest fixture, Mbabane Swallows against Manzini Wanderers (also the third biggest fixture in the land after Highlanders vs Wanderers) the privilege of the Mavuso Sports Centre which accommodates 2 000 vaccinated fans.

The match is billed for the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium on Saturday where only 500 jabbed spectators are allowed. The 2 000 has so far been surpassed only once, following a special permission by government for the big capital city derby clash at Mavuso Sports Centre where 5 000 tickets were sold. Read more below as we highlight our pick of the fixtures of match-day 13 that see Highlanders four points on the clear at the summit but also two games ahead of second-placed defending champions Royal Leopard.
