MBABANE – Zimbabwean Coach Terisayi Changara has joined Manzini Wanderers technical bench led by veteran Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe.

The hub giants’ Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mlungisi ‘Mluka’ Ndzinisa, confirmed the latest addition to the team’s technical bench. “We have boosted our bench with the experienced Terisayi, who started drilling the team today. It is not like we brought him in because of our loss to Tinyosi, but we saw a gap that needed to be filled,” Ndzinisa said. He said they had been tracking the coach for a long time and were happy to have finally acquired his signature. The PRO did not want to reveal the role of the coach and how long they had tied him to the club as he said this was between the two parties.

“I can’t reveal that for now, but once everything is sorted I will inform the nation about the terms of his contract,” Ndzinisa said. He said the reason they went for Terisayi was that his philosophy was aligned with that of the maroon and white outfit. “He believes in youngsters and he will fit well in our style as we are using young players. We hope that he will help us bring positive results,” he said. The former Nsingizini Hotspurs coach said he was happy to join a big team like Manzini Wanderers and was looking forward to working well under the experienced Nyanga Hlophe. “Yes, it’s true that I have joined Wanderers, my task in the team is to help the head coach and I am very happy to work with him,” Changara said. He also said they would be sharing ideas with the other technical bench members for the betterment of the team. He further said he started drilling the team yesterday during the morning training session.

This is the Zimbabwean coach’s third team in the current season. He started the season with MTN National First Division side Nsingizini Hotspurs. His contract was terminated at the ambitious Shiselweni-based side after poor results. Changara was immediately unveiled at another National First Division outfit, Mbabane Citizens. Two months later into his one-year contract with Ezinkulu, Changara has jumped ship to join Wanderers. Mbabane Citizens Chairman Mandla Simelane said he was not aware that Changara had joined Wanderers. “He once hinted that Wanderers were after his services but he never indicated that he would go,” Simelane said. He said he was yet to find out about the coach leaving his team as, according to him, he was their mentor till his one-year contract elapsed.
