MBABANE – “I warned them about Ennin a long time ago.”

This was said Mbabane Swallows’ elder and Member of Parliament (MP) Robert Magongo. The legislator said yesterday that he was not surprised that the club was underperforming in this way and blamed it on the coach, Christopher Ennin. “He is not fit for Swallows. We don’t lose to teams like Rangers and Callies. I said it about Ennin a while ago that he must be released because I had watched the team in the early games and realised this was not the Swallows I know. His time long ran out at Swallows,” MP Magongo said.

Reputation

He said the club’s President, Archbishop Bheki Lukhele, needed to release Ennin who could still get a team that was in his level but not Swallows, who were a bigger club with a reputation. He said the results and log standing all pointed to the coach as not good enough for a team this size. “He must go. His time is up,” Magongo emphasised. It is understood Magongo is one of the people who could also prove influential in influencing the head coach’s departure as investigations by this publication revealed through talking to some officials that a majority believed Ennin should go. The coach could not be immediately reached for comment.
