BIG BEND - Mbabane Citizens welcomed their new coach Terisayi Charanga with a point yesterday.

The coach was in charge for the first time as ‘Ezinkulu’ head coach in the MTN National First Division league game against Seven Dreams played here yesterday.
The sides played to a goalless draw in a game that failed to live up to its expectations. The game’s outcome would have changed the complexion of the log standing, with ‘Ezinkulu’ taking the pole position and the Mankayane-based side taking positions two or three, if they had won the encounter. Coming back to the game the two teams failed to create scoring chance as they were too cautious to concede.

It was the Mbabane side that made the first attempt, after their striker Ndumiso Ginindza bulldozed his was to a goal and laid a nice pass to Vulindlela Shabangu who took a shot that was tipped by Seven Dreams goalkeeper Phila Mkhabela, for a fruitless corner. Seven Dreams were quick to respond, through former Green Mamba midfield maestro Phumlani Ngwenya, who let fly a hard shot that missed the target with few inches 15 minutes into the game. Mbabane Citizens goalkeeper Sicelo Mkhwanazi almost presented Seven Dreams with a Christmas gift, after failing to control a back pass by defender Mayibongwe ‘Macheda’ Mlipha, luckily for him the ball was not fast and was cleared.

Ngwenya who won almost every ball in the middle of the park, let fly a rocket which was tipped over by the goalkeeper for a corner. The team went to rest with the score board clean. In the second stanza, there was nothing much to write home about, as the teams resorted in kicking the ball instead of possessing it.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Citizens mentor Changara said he was happy about the result in his first game, as they were playing against a competing side. His counterpart, Sipho Mamba said a point was better than nothing, but was hopeful that they would amass all the points against Sisonkhe in their next match.
