BIG SEND-OFF FOR NONHLANHLA

MBABANE – The big three teams’ supporters came in numbers to bury one of Manzini Wanderers staunch supporters, Nonhlanhla Hadebe.

Hadebe died last week at the RFM Hospital after a short illness and she was buried yesterday at her parental home, at Gobholo on the outskirts of the capital city. Speaking on behalf of the Hub giants National Supporters Committee Secretary General (SG) Sizwe Shongwe said the team was at a loss for words on how touched they were to lose one of their vibrant fans in Hadebe. “It really pained us a lot to lose Nonhlanhla, who was not just a fan but Manzini Wanderers supporter. We are going to miss her singing in the stadiums as she was one of those who led in songs during our games,” Shongwe said.

He said the team management had promised to grace the funeral but were held in other commitments of the team. “As Manzini Wanderers family we have donated close to E5 000 in support of our beloved sister’s send off,” he said. He also thanked the supporters of the big three teams for attending the funeral and further urged them to continue doing the same to other families. “The gospel of unity among the supporters of the local teams is there for all to see, as you can see fans from Mbabane Swallows, Mbabane Highlanders and a few from Denver Sundowns,” he said.

Sifiso Hadebe, an elder brother to the deceased said as a family they were happy about the support rendered by the football people. “It shows that our sister was a people’s person as supporters came in numbers to pay their last respects. We are very thankful for such a support,” Hadebe said. He also urged the supporters to continue doing the same for other families.
