MBABANE – Sensational!

That’s how best to describe Eswatini’s professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini’s sterling performance in the Aramco Saudi Ladies International presented by Public Investment Fund in Saudi Arabia, in which she won a cool E195 000. Dlamini’s 22nd finish with four under par earned her the highest prize money she has won in the entire tournament she has played so far under the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tournament was played for over four rounds at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club.

The winner was New Zealand’s Lydia Ko, who fired a final round of 65 to triumph by five shots and taking home over E2 million as the first prize money. Ko finished with 23 under par while second was player from Thailand Atthaya Thitikul, who played 18 under par. Dlamini finished tied with six players who all played the four under par and each earned the same amount of the prize the Euroa11 267 prize (About E195 000). The four day tournament started on Thursday and ended on Sunday.

The tournament is among those hugely sponsored as the package stands at E15 247 130 (USD $1 000 000). Some of the golfers came from countries including South Africa, England, United States, Scotland, Germany, China, Spain, Finland, Norway, France and Malaysia among others. Dlamini was up against the top players in the world including the now three-time winner Lydia Ko, Australasians Minjee Lee and Steph Kyriacou, plus fellow Major-winners Georgia Hall, Anna Nordqvist, and Dame Laura Davies.

Other top players were defending champion Emily Kristine Pedersen and Britain’s Charley Hull among others. Dlamini has been competing under the LET since March when the Ladies Sunshine Tour calendar of events ended. She had been outstanding in some tournaments while she struggled in others. This is currently her best performance and highest earnings in the season. She has played in countries including Spain, Norway, Scotland, Italy, France and Saudi Arabia.
