SANDILE STORMS OUT OF TRAINING, HAULED TO DC

MBABANE - Just before the season kick-off, there is action off the field at Mbabane Swallows.

Highly placed sources have asserted that all is not well at the Swallows camp following a misunderstanding between striker Sandile Hlatswako and head coach Christopher Ennin. “He stormed out of training on Friday, after they had an argument with the coach. The team felt Hlatswako did not respect the coach,” alleged the source.

Effort to get what was the bone of contention between the coach and the striker were scanty at the time of compiling the report. The coach was called earlier on in the day, but he said he was in a meeting. The sourced asserted that the meeting was nothing but a disciplinary hearing for the lanky striker. “He was hauled to DC; however, I am sure that he will not be fired. These things do happen in football, but it takes one party to apologise and see his wrongdoing then reach a compromise,” said the source.

The source said it was impossible that they fire him because he is one of the key men at the capital city side. Effort to get comments from the coach proved futile as he said he was in a meeting and could only get back to the Sports Desk after the meeting. However, when when called several times 30 minutes later as he had promised, his mobile number rang unanswered. Hlatshwako also did not respond. Messages were sent on his WhatsApp number and he did not respond by the time of compiling this report.

Notably, on Sandile’s Whatsapp profile picture, he had put a picture of him with former Swallows coach Honour Janza. The Zambian coach only coached for one season at the red and white side. Swallows Marketing and Communications Manager Mancoba Mabuza neither confirmed in nor denied that there was a disciplinary hearing yesterday. “At Mbabane Swallows we treat disciplinary matters with the confidentiality they deserve,” he said.
