MBABANE – Loyalty is rare; if you find it, keep it.

English actor, Clive Owen’s immortal words in the 2006 blockbuster movie, Inside Man, holds true for Mbabane Swallows who have since deployed long serving assistant captain Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko to head the club’s Development Programme.
The announcement was made by the club’s Head of Communications and Marketing Mancoba Mabuza yesterday.

Retired

Nhleko has officially retired from the game after a career spanning 21 years which began at Gege Happy Stars in 1999-200 season; took him to Denver Sundowns, Black Leopards, Blackburn Rovers, FC Azziz (all in South Africa), Malanti Chiefs and then ended gracefully at the Swallows of Mbabane. “Wonder remains a Bird. Accordingly, the Club President has sanctioned the immediate deployment of Nhleko as Head of Development at Mbabane Swallows FC. He had long expressed an interest in a coaching career hence the club financed his coaching training courses and will continue doing so,” Mabuza said.

understudying

Mabuza further stated that Nhleko will be understudying the senior team coach and working closely with them going forward. “We hope this will strengthen our technical capacity. Please join us as we congratulate Wonder on his new role at Mbabane Swallows,” Mabuza’s statement reads in part. The red and white glamour side further confirmed our exclusive story on Monday that four players namely, Sanele Mkhweli, Allen Mabuza, Simanga Shongwe and Nhlanhla ‘Jive’ Nkosi have been officially released by the club.
