MTN LEAGUES AWARDS TOMORROW

MBABANE – Finally, they will be awarded.

Winners of the 2020/ 21 MTN Premier League will be awarded with what is due to them tomorrow at the MTN Headquarters, Mahlelekhukhwini House, Ezulwini during the awards. The presentation comes two months after the MTN Premier League and the MTN National First Division League ended. The big winners on the day will be the champions, Royal Leopard who will walk away with the E1 million cheque plus the trophy while runners-up Young Buffaloes will get the E350 000 first round cheque and the E500 000.

Third finishers, Mbabane Swallows will be awarded with the E350 000 a third prize while fourth finishers Mbabane Highlanders will get E200 000. The biggest individual winners tomorrow will be the player of the year. There are three players who are contesting for the award that carries the E12 000 cheque. They are Young Buffaloes Phiwa Dlamini Royal leopard Junior Magagula, Muzi ‘Mzoro’ Dlamini and Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. Buffaloes striker Phiwa Dlamini, who will miss the start of the season due to an injury, will also take home the top goal-scorer award that has a E6 000 prize after he scored a historical 23 goals last season.

Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Operations Officer (COO) Pat Vilakati said only the champions were expected to bring all their team members but the rest would come as per invitation. Other awards include coach of the tournament, fair play award, PRO of the year, referee of the tournament, assistant referee of the tournament and media awards among others.
