MBABANE – Royal Leopard Captain Muzi ‘Mzoro’ Dlamini believes there is still a lot to be done if they are to overcome Zambia’s ZESCO United and reach the second round of the preliminaries.

Dlamini said going to Zambia with the 1-0 lead is an advantage but it is not over as they feel ZESCO United will be stronger at their back yard. Dlamini said this after the 1-0 win on Saturday in the first leg match played at Mavuso Sports Centre. “It was a tough game and we struggled at first when we were still trying to see their approach. We then settled well in the games and in the second half I believe we were in control. We missed some clear scoring chances and we could be travelling to Zambia with a better score but that is how football is,” he said.

The former Mbabane Highlanders player said they would be working on their fitness and mentality as they were preparing for the match. Leopard is likely to leave the country on Wednesday as their game is billed for Saturday at Ndola, Zambia. Dlamini said they would have to be clever in Zambia, especially because the ZESCO players were bulky. He likened their situation to that of Lionel Messi that he has a tiny body but he dribbles past bulky strikers.

Meanwhile, ZESCO striker and Captain John Chingandu said it was not yet over as he believed they are going for the second half with the Saturday match. “We played well as we created some chances but we were poor at finishing. All is not lost as we still have another 90 minutes to play. To me this is like the half time. We are going to be stronger at home and we want to go through to the second round of the preliminaries,” he said.
