EZULWINI – Delegates of Eswatini Football Association (EFA) are not happy about the car that was sold to the then President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa.

The delegates made this known during the EFA Ordinary General Assembly which was held at Happy Valley Hotel. Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Executive Committee member Charles Matsebula, who was vocal on the day raised this thorny issue and was also second by another executive member in Sipho ‘Tsetla’ Bhembe. They both wanted to know about the policy regarding the sale and disposing of assets for the association.

Matsebula even went on an extent of moving a motion to stall the car until the issue of the policy was addressed. In response, EFA CEO explained that issues pertaining disposing of assets were clear. He said the first preference was given to the executive members or the person who was serving in that particular position. He also highlighted that policies were formed to be amended; this policy too could be amended in the next agm. Matsebula also moved a motion that the surplus from EFA should be given to member associations. However, Mngomezulu made it clear highlighting how FIFA Forward grants were used.

He also disclosed that they needed auditing and if it happened that they utelised them elsewhere, it would reflect on the audits and they would have to answer to FIFA  why they diverted FIFA funds. Another notable issue that was raised by different delegates was the issue of the High Court battle between EFA and the 11 HRFA teams. Musa Mamba said they deserved an explanation on the matter. The then Acting President Comfort Shongwe said it was not in his speech as it was long prepared before the High Court issue. He told delegates that as the court of the land had ruled in their favour, they had to continue with the elections as it was a norm.
