MACHAWE WINS MASHAYINKONJANE GOLF TOURNEY

MBABANE – Mashayinkonjane Golf Day had a field of 54 golfers and it was Machawe Maziya’s 38 points that saw him claim the decorated tournament’s championship.

The tournament was played at the Manzini Golf Course on Sunday. Also gracing the event was Prince Bandzile, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo and Eswatini MTN Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wandile Mtshali. Manzini Golf Club member Eerfaan Dada was the runner-up after scoring 36 points on count-back (c/b) while Moses Masilela was placed third with 36 points.

Also separated by a count-back difference in positions four and five was veteran golfer John ‘Nyakanyaka’ Dlamini and Clement Nhleko. Sharing the spoils after paying a tie of 34 points was Clement Dlamini and Richard Dlamini, who was honoured for the longest drive and nearest to two. Nosimilo Kgomo was awarded for nearest the pin. Captain Wakie Lawrence thanked all the participants for gracing the event as well as other golf clubs that joined the tournament. “I would like to thank our sister club, Mbabane Golf Club, that was well represented as well as our guest players who blessed our golf day. Congratulations to the winners and more so to our sponsor who made this event possible,” said Wakie.
