AE UNVEILS MARKETING COMMITTEE

MBABANE – Athletics Eswatini has unveiled a new marketing committee which will be responsible for not only promoting the association but scout for sponsors.

The announcement was made by  Athletics Eswatini (AE) President Zakhele Dlamini in a press conference which was held at Sigwaca House yesterday. The team is headed by Lindelwa Dlamini and members are Xolani Ngcamphalala, Wandile Gama, Lungile Dlamini, Zandile Masina and Nothando Mhlanga. The president highlighted that the committee would be in office until 2023 when the whole AE executive’s term of office is over. Dlamini said the committee’s first task will be to look for resources for the National Junior Relay Team which was also unveiled during the gathering.

“Among other tasks is looking for funds ahead of the World Junior Championship which will be held in Kenya. The relay team will need at least E200 000 for the trip to Kenya which is in August,” Dlamini said. He said they had faith the team would deliver and all those who were appointed had unlimited potential. Speaking on behalf of the committee was the Chairman, Lindelwa Dlamini, who thanked the executive for having confidence in them. “The appointment will not only help us grow individually but also help the association to achieve its mandate. “We are positive that we will not only achieve our mandate but exceed the expectations as we believe we have a great team here,” he said. He then appealed for support from all stakeholders as they go about their duties. Meanwhile, coach of the national relay team Muzi Mabuza said the main stakeholders were the athletes. “Mine as a coach is to work tirelessly of course with the athletes and the executive,” he said.
