WHO WILL BE EFA’S VICE PRESIDENTS?

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

While the whole focus has been on the man to replace long-serving Eswatini Football Association (EFA) president Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa, there is a brewing battle for the two vice president positions in the background.

Maybe not as quite dramatic or fierce as the race for the head-honcho position, it is equally bruising. This is owed to the fact that the nominees themselves are people who have held positions in the echelons of football power in both the EFA and its special member, the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE). In the untrained eye, the vice presidency might be seen as just a ceremonial position but if the incumbent is outspoken, influential and streetwise he can sway the football discourse at every turn especially in crucial decisions and policies. In the bigger scheme of things, it is as important a position as the head-honcho one in the Executive Committee.
Sports Editor, Lwazi Dlamini gives us an insight on the nominees who will be contesting the two positions in Sunday’s elective conference.
