MBABANE – He nailed it.

That is Young Buffaloes striker Phiwayinkhosi ‘Slwabelwabe’ Dlamini, who earned E20 000 for his outstanding performance in the MTN Premier League first round. The 30-year-old’s sensational performance earned him three awards, being the top goalscorer award that carries E6 000, best player, E8 000 and player of the month for May, E6 000. His outstanding performance comes after that of his teammate Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze who was simply the best last season. Dlamini is the current top goalscorer in the league, leading with 15 goals while Mbabane Highlanders’ Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa is second with 14 goals.

He is the only player this season to have scored four goals in one match. He netted the quadruple on June 16, 2020 at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground when they thrashed Tinyosi 8-0. The army side dominated the awards as coach Sabelo Mnisi was announced the Best Coach of the first round with the team walking away with the E350 000 first round incentives having beaten Royal Leopard in the last day of the first round.

Despite that we are playing in the same league, there is a lot that I am learning from him,” he said. Dlamini said as a team they were working hard and they wanted to win every match.

“We have not given up in the league as there are a lot of games to be played. I’m happy to have won these awards but there is still a lot that I need to do to achieve more,” he said.
