MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) is confident of clinching a new deal with MTN Eswatini as the E18 million three-year sponsorship comes to an end.

The two parties are expected to engage in negotiations for a new deal for the coming seasons. MTN Eswatini with PLE launched an E18 million sponsorship in 2018 that has reached its final year with the 2020/ 21 season. E6 million was played for each season. PLE Chairman Mark Carmichael’s representative Charles Matsebula, who is a Board member said they were happy with the partnership between the two entities.

He said they were looking forward to a renewal of a new deal and they would be sitting around the table hoping for good news. “Thanks to MTN for their continued support and we are looking forward to the new season that will start on time, August. This was a tough season as it is played under the COVID-19 environment and we are happy that MTN has always been with us,” he said. Matsebula said they would like to see the MTN National First Division also having the individual awards like the elite league. He said that would motivate the players too as they would know that with their outstanding performances, they will be rewarded.

He then congratulated all the winner of the day. “It is worth it to remind the team that we are still under the COVID-19 environment and it is important that teams adhere to the regulations at all times. The PLE is also open to those who want to have in input and they can forward their contributions through the office as it is always open,” he said. MTN Eswatini Lando Dlamini said they were happy to be associated with football as it gets the exposure to their customers. “Football is one sport that is loved by majority and we are happy to have partnered with such a great spot. There have been challenges everywhere but working together made things easier.  Congratulation to the winners,” she said.
