SITEKI – Captain fantastic Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze was deservedly crowned man of the match after inspiring Mbabane Swallows to a 2-0 victory with a brace against Mhlume Peacemakers here yesterday.

The victory was a perfect Father’s Day gift for Mbabane Swallows, who recorded their 12th win of the season and with one game in hand, they stand a better chance of closing in on the security forces teams, Royal Leopard on the sumit and second- placed Young Buffaloes. Having gone into the second half goalless as both sides failed to score as they employed remarkable defence strategies, Mbabane Swallows’ Tony who substituted Sizolwethu ‘Nunu’ Shabalala in the 50th minute, converted a pass from outside the box to beat Peacemakers’18-year-old goalkeeper Siyabonga Magagula.

This was only 12 minutes after Shabalala’s substitution. The left-footed striker nailed the second goal eight minutes later with the assistance of captain Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu to make it 2-0. The odds were heavily stacked against Peacemakers who recently lost 1-0 to Manzini Wanderers while Swallows are fresh from a 4-1 triumph against Black Swallows. Now with 42 points in the bag, Swallows have maintained third position on the log standings, while Peacemakers remain rooted on the basement of the MTN League log table as they recorded their 15th defeat and have only earned 12 points in 21 games.
