EDWIN WORRIED ABOUT EFFECTS OF LEAGUE BREAK

MBABANE – After his side extended their lead to four points, Royal Leopard coach Edwin Matsebula is worried the league break could affect their momentum.

The police side beat Denver Sundowns 2-0 here yesterday courtesy of Lungelo Tsabedze’s 72nd minute and Muzi ‘Mzoro’ Dlamini’s 74th minute identical strikes here yesterday. Matsebula admitted his side didn’t play well too. “I am happy with the win, but we didn’t play well especially in the first half. We were not aggressive enough but the changes we made helped us increase the tempo. My worry is that the league could have negative implications but the truth also is that the players are tired,” he said.

Leopard will face Mbabane Highlanders in the next fixture. The league is expected to take a break to give way to the FIFA International week with the national team, Sihlangu Semnikati expected to have started camp last night. Meanwhile, Sundowns stand-in coach, Arthwell Dludlu said his team was unlucky not to get at the very least a draw after creating a lot of chances in the first half. “We played well, we had three clear-cut chances in the first half then we dropped a little bit in the second half but we deserved to get at least a point from this game,” Dludlu said.
