BULL’S ‘SIKHALI’ CASE VICTORY TOPICAL

The smiles are back in the ‘Black Bull’ kraal after Tuesday’s protest case against striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa lodged by Black Swallows cleared the national team marksman.

Club flamboyant boss Ally Kgomongwe says ‘God is great’, ‘Sikhali’ himself says he is no defaulter and the legal eagle who represented Highlanders, Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli, said Black Swallows – and everybody else who has lodged a protest against the player – are on fishing expedition. Quite interesting! But Highlanders will be in a fishing expedition for three valuable points themselves this afternoon when they come face-to-face with a slithering Green Mamba, still coming to terms of how they were elbowed away from the race of the E350 000 first round incentive.

Caleb Ngwenya’s charges have been inconsistent especially in games where the stakes are high and this afternoon’s clash is one of those games where they would need to stamp their authority if they are to challenge for the league title they won in the grand style in the 2018/2019 season. The last meeting between the two sides was on Worker’s Day (May 1) at Tambankulu Stadium, where a Njabulo Tfwala 30th minute strike was enough to hand ‘Inyoka Eluhlazana’ all three points.

Thriller

Tfwala, one of the brightest sparks in Caleb Ngwenya’s troops will once again lead by example when the two sides cross path today in a game that is expected to be a thriller. Green Mamba are fresh from a 2-1 win over Moneni Pirates, while Highlanders beat struggling Denver Sundowns 1-0 courtesy of Banele Ndzabandzaba, 37th minute goal. With the protests case issues out of the way, perhaps the gifted ‘Sikhali’ will be full focused on what he knows best - rattling the back of the net. His 11th goal tally has kept Highlanders in the title hunt and brought belief that the country’s football aristocrats could finally end the 19-year-wait for the league crown. Coach Dumsani ‘DU’ Makhanya might be busy with the Women’s national team, Sitsebe Samhlekazi duties, but coming up against his employers (we can only hope he will not be on duty at work....heek, heek, heek) he knows his team needs to annex all three points to keep up with the chasing pack especially after Young Buffaloes were left wandering by Manzini Wanderers in the 1-0 defeat yesterday.

Highlanders remain fifth on the log standings, 12 points behind log leaders Young Buffaloes but they have an opportunity to reduce the gap to nine points if they beat Green Mamba this afternoon. Not only do Highlanders need to win, but also to avenge the first round 0-1 loss to the ‘Correctional Services’ side on May 1. A tricky clash is on the cards at the iconic King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium today.
