MBABANE – A new kit for the new season.

Elite football club, Green Mamba, will be donning a new playing kit when football resumes expectedly in the next two weeks. According to the club’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mandla Sibiya, the kit was bought in Turkey in August last year but they could not utilise it while awaiting branding. The home kit is dominantly green, while the away kit is predominantly white with patches of green. Forming part of the deal are tracksuits and socks. Meanwhile, Sibiya declined to disclose the value of the kit, saying that it was not for public consumption.

Consumption

“We cannot state the value of our kit because it is not for public consumption. We were assisted by an agent to get this deal but we can’t say how much it was because we have competitors and we want them to use their means to get their own,” said Sibiya. Sibiya said club replicas would be available in the next three weeks as their production was stalled by the rampage of COVID-19, which hit hard and even killed nine employees at the Turkish factory.

He, however, said the lockdown worked in their favour, allowing them time to produce and transport the product to the country so that it is made available by the time fans are allowed back into stadiums. “Our replicas will be retailing for E450 and E1 200 for the track suits. I can say that the lockdown was a blessing in disguise because now the fans can purchase and wear them when football returns and when they are allowed into the stadium,” said Sibiya. Anyone who wishes to buy the replicas can contact the team’s treasurer Petros Fakudze on 7649 7080.
To confirm their interest, fans were advised to make a 50 percent up-front payment then pay the balance upon delivery.
