MBABANE – Some relationships were meant to last forever.

For the umpteenth time, much travelled coach, Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini, has rekindled his relationship with Mbabane Swallows, this time in an unspecified role as a member of the club’s technical bench. Sources close to the club have informed the Times Sports Desk that the towering coach, whose last coachinf stint was a  short-as-a-sneeze stay at premier league rookies Tambankulu Callies, has flown back to the ‘Birds’ nest. He had previously been with Swallows’ traditional rivals Mbabane Highlanders as coach and technical director in 2019 with his notable contribution being winning the EswatiniTelecom Charity Cup on August 5. Highlanders beat Wanderers 2-0 in the final. “Ace is back with Swallows as TD. He will be introduced to the players when the lockdown ends,” said our deep-throat in the ‘Birds’ nest.

Reached for comment late last night, Mbabane Swallows Communications and Marketing Manager Mancoba Mabuza confirmed ‘Ace’s return to the Swallows of Mbabane. “The office of the Swallows president has the pleasure to announce the appointment of Zenzele Dlamini as part of the technical bench. The president has made it clear that this decision has been made for purposes of strengthening the technical department as we prepare for the reopening of football  games,” part of the statement released by the club read.

Mabuza said the club remained committed to lifting the MTN league title and other trophies in the quest to get back to Caf inter-club competitions. “Dlamini is not new to the club and his connection with Mbabane Swallows is well-known. Welcome home ‘Ace’,” he added. Dlamini when contacted earlier in the week, had referred all enquiries to Swallows. “The right people to comment would be Swallows,” he said briefly.
