MBABANE – The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has mourned the passing away of Mzobanzi Dlamini.

Dlamini was the Chairperson of the EFA’s Disciplinary Committee (DC). He passed away on Thursday due to a COVID-19-related illness. It was reported that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and later succumbed to his illness at the Good Shepherd Mission Hospital.

“At this point; EFA would like to extend its sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, EFA’s DC, football family and friends for his passing,” said EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe.

He said that as a football federation they still cannot comprehend the passing on of the Chairperson of the EFA’s DC.

“He was an experienced football administrator who performed his duties diligently. His demise is a huge loss to football as he was a loyal servant to football and EFA was still looking forward to his contribution towards football development,” he said.

The motherbody association further expressed its sincere and heartfelt condolences to all COVID-19 victims.

“This is a hard-hitting period to football and the globe as a lot of lives are lost at an alarming rate.

The EFA joins the rest in expressing her symbol of solidarity and wishes of the Lord’s comfort to all affected as a result of the passing on of these lives,” he said.
