MBABANE – Royal Leopard assistant coach Mfanzile ‘Fash’ Dlamini has not been spared by COVID-19.

The good thing is he is recovering after being infected a fortnight ago. The former Mhlambanyatsi Rovers striker has attributed his recovery to God. “I am happy that I have recovered although I am not 100 per cent fully recovered. I must thank God who was my strength through my recovery,” he said. When asked about medication he took to win the war against the scourge, he said; “I would advise people to drink hot water which kills viruses, bacteria and protozoa. Drinking warm water has its own benefits, one being it is a great immune booster for your health and fulfils all the needs to beat the harshness of changing seasons and helps you to stay fit,” Dlamini said. He also disclosed his recovery was enhanced by steaming with eucalyptus oil which he said helped in difficulty with breathing. However, he put emphasis on prayer. He also advised the football fraternity to adhere to all the World Health Organisation and government measures.

Real

“The virus is real and we need to prevent it before we are infected because not all of us can recover. I also want to send condolences to all those who have lost a family member through this virus,” he said. ‘Fash’ joined the army side in 2006 and later became part of the technical bench in 2013. He became a household name between the 2001-2005 seasons where he played along the likes of Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya, Lwazi ‘Zidane’ Maziya, Tony ‘TT’Tsabedze to mention but a few. They were under the guidance of the late Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini who died of COVID-19-related illness.
