MBABANE – He is a survivor. That is Green Mamba’s striker Phinda ‘Phindrix’ Dlamini, who survived food poisoning and he had to be admitted for three days to Mkhiwa Clinic.

The former national team forward confirmed yesterday that he had to go through the agony of the food poisoning during the festive season.

“I’m now recovering, having been admitted for at least three days. I would not know exactly what I ate but I then developed the symptoms of food poisoning and had to be admitted to the clinic. Thank God I am about to fully recover,” he said.

According to nhsinform.scot, food poisoning is an illness caused by eating contaminated food. It’s not usually serious and most people get better within a few days without treatment but some have to seek medical attention.

Dlamini said he would be joining the team tomorrow when they start preparations for the return of the MTN Premier League on January 16. He said he would join for light training. Green Mamba will play Tambankulu Callies in week 3 of the MTN Premier League.

They did not play week two of the fixtures as their game against Royal Leopard was postponed due to some confirmed COVID-19 positive cases.

Green Mamba Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mandla Sibiya said it was good news that the player had survived and he will be part of the team soon.
