MANZINI – Three Manzini Wanderers star players are training with Moneni Pirates.

The three players, former captain Sihle Mkhonta, Jose Machado and Sifiso ‘Tjovitjo’ Maseko were yesterday spotted training with the ‘Weslians’ city rivals at the sports ground at Enjabulweni.

These players form part of the 13 players that were recently reported to be released by the maroon and white outfit.

The ‘Sea Robbers’ as they are fondly known, just like many other teams, have intensified their preparations ahead of the start of the new season on Saturday.

Apart from the three Wanderers players, a number of new youthful players were also spotted to have formed part of the training session.

Present during the training session were referees’ instructors, who had been requested by the team management to give a tutorial to the players on the new laws of the game.

Also present were the team officials, who included General Manager (GM) Brian Magagula and Corporate Affairs Manager Mhlonishwa Motsa among others.

swapped

Interestingly, Pirates and the national team, Sihlangu, full-back Mthunzi ‘Chippa’ Motsa has swapped sides as he was spotted training with Wanderers a fortnight ago at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Chippa is not the only player to have left the ‘buccaneers’ of Moneni as others include Nhlanhla ‘Jive’ Nkosi, who has signed and had been unveiled by capital outfit Mbabane Swallows.

On the other hand, youngster, Siphosethu ‘Mjovo’ Mlotsa, is now at the black bull’s kraal after forming part of the players that were unveiled by the capital giants’ South African Director in Pretoria-based businessman Chief Ally Kgomongwe.

Meanwhile, other players remain loyal to Pirates and these include the longest serving player, captain Menzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane, who has been with the team for over a decade now.
