MTN’S E150 000 BOOST FOR WOMEN

MBABANE – As a means of empowering women in all constituencies of the country through Business Eswatini (BE), MTN has pumped in E150 000 towards the development of the Vukani BoMake project.

The MTN Foundation handed over the cheque at an auspicious occasion held at the Business Eswatini Headquarters at Emafini yesterday. 

The event was graced by Minister of Tinkhundla, Administration and Development David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, Business Eswatini (BE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nathi Dlamini, BE President Andrew Le Roux, MTN Foundation Board Chairperson Busisiwe Simelane, MTN Head of Corporate Services Sibusiso Nhleko, Business Women Eswatini (BWE) Chairperson Tokky Hou, BWE and BE Board members and Managing Director at TransMagnific Miliswa Mamba, Vukani BoMake beneficiaries and other stakeholders. 

MTN Foundation Board Chairperson Simelane thanked Minister Ngcamphalala for being part of the event. Simelane pointed out that the MTN Foundation was about making a lifelong investment towards empowering women through different projects under the Vukani BoMake umbrella as she was also raised by her mother who also made a living through selling craftworks and became successful in this regard. 

BE CEO Dlamini thanked MTN for assisting financially as he deemed it an investment and not a donation. He said the investment would go a long way as in the development of women in the society. 

BE President Le Roux recalled a time when the Vukani BoMake project was still a concept and said he was proud to see the fruits of the labour that were culminated by BE and BWE.
