MBABANE – Renowned former Mbabane Swallows Manager, Lukhetfo Ndzinisa, has bounced back into the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) football.

After over a decade since he parted ways with Swallows unceremoniously, after a fall out with slain club boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze, who had appointed and trusted him a lot, Ndzinisa was yesterday named in the new-look Mbabane Citizens’ Management Committee (MC) as the General Manager. His return comes after he was approached by the National First Division League outfit’s director, Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane, who he managed while the latter was a player at Swallows before joining Mbabane Highlanders. Ndzinisa’s return to the game was announced at a press conference at Sidvwashini where Citizens’ offices are located.

vision

The club’s Chairman, Mandla Simelane, presented the MC to the media, saying their vision as Citizens was to return to the elite league next season and to achieve that, they needed experienced people.

“This is our new MC and will be led by Gcina Shongwe as its chairman while we have Lukhetfo Ndzinisa as our General Manager and also former Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows player not so long ago, Mbongeni ‘Fox’ Mavuso is our Manager.

“Completing the MC is the Head of Secretariat, Nsindiso Tsabedze, who is a former journalist, and will be assisted by Siyabonga Dludlu while the PRO position is taken by Sicelo ‘Dj Chuidy’ Zwane and team doctor Mfundo Mthethwa.

We’ll now start work as the team needs to be ‘beefed up’ and we believe the director has the budget for it,” Simelane announced. The PRO, Zwane, is also renowned for releasing a house track titled ‘Gwaza Nkunzi’ during ‘Rubber’s’ time as the capital city giants’ director. He has also served in the same position before for other clubs. The MC Chairman, Shongwe is also a former official at Swallows and served when Rubber was still a player there. “I needed experience as our plan is to get promotion back to the top flight. We’ll be getting busy as a club and I believe in my MC as I know them from way back at Swallows. It also has nothing to do with our backgrounds in terms of the teams we follow but we’re now all Citizens,” Simelane (‘Rubber’) said of the appointments.

good

Ndzinisa said it felt good to be back in football. “It’s not the first time ‘Rubber’ has approached me as he did so last season and returned again this time around so I realised he was serious and had confidence in me and here I am now. We know each other a lot. “What is important is that we’re here to work but we’re not bringing any miracle as all will take team effort,” he said.  His MC Chairman, Shongwe, shared the same sentiments and said they were appointed because Simelane saw a capability in them. He said they would do their best as they had all the time and passion for the game, which means they have the experience.
