MANZINI – Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga was full of praise for the national team, Sihlangu, after the goalless draw against Congo Brazzaville yesterday.

Bulunga said the team had chances of winning the game but failed to take them. ‘Madze’, who is also a former coach for Sihlangu, said the team was unlucky on the day otherwise it was a good display from both the players and the technical bench.

impressed

“Having watched both matches against Congo, I was impressed with the performance today (yesterday). It was a much improved performance especially the second half when we created some chances but we missed. I counted about three clear chances that we could have easily converted in the second half,” he said.

Bulunga said now that our chances of qualifying were over, it is time that we build the team with the two remaining games in the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers. He said the technical bench had to give the players some time to form a combination in order to be ready for the next tournament or qualifiers.

“The technical bench must now not work under pressure but build the team for the next tournament or qualifiers with two remaining games in the AFCON Qualifiers,” he added.

Sihlangu will be back in action next year in March when the qualifiers continue with the COSAFA Senior Men’s Challenge.
