MBABANE – It was bound to happen.

Hub giants Manzini Wanderers have put Sicelo ‘junior’ Simelane and Menzi Gamedze along with 10 others on the transfer list.

This is after the Manzini based side started preparations ahead of the new season.

Head coach Nyanga Hlophe has compiled his list of players which he feels the team must release to give room for newcomers.

When reached, Hlophe confirmed having compiled the list and submitted to the Rueben ‘Rhoo’ Nxumalo-led Management Committee (MC) for further scrutiny.

“I have given the list to the MC, I cannot divulge the names of the players I put on the list because I also operate under my superiors, being the MC,” said the coach.

contractual terms

The Hungary-trained mentor added that the MC would also have to determine which of the players were to be released as he (Nyanga) was just the coach of the team and not aware of the players’ contractual terms with the team.

“They (MC) will come up with the final list of players to be released and give me feedback. For now, they are still working on it,” said Hlophe.

The MC chairman, Nxumalo, could not be drawn for comment as his mobile phone was switched off.

clear-out campaign

Meanwhile, Wanderers are reportedly on a massive clear-out campaign.

This publication has it in good authority that they have put about 12 players on transfer as they look at boosting the team with new blood ahead of the new season.

It has been gathered that these players have been released to create room for new talent.

Other players said to be leaving include Sifiso ‘Tjovitjo’ Maseko, Chaffiou Abbadou, Jose Machado, Buhle Msibi, Kwanele Dlamini, Stanley Umukoro, Colani Dlamini and Phila Dlamini.

According to sources, Hlophe’s technical team has approved the transfer of the players, which was performance based.

Among other players the team intends to sign are Moneni Pirates’ Fabrice Mopina and Mbabane Highlanders’ Jimoh Moses.
