NOBUHLE WINS E30 000 IN INVESTEC ROYAL SWAZI OPEN

MBABANE – Professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini finished third to earn E30 000 in the Investec Royal Swazi (Ladies) Open.

Dlamini was up against five professional golfers from South Africa and the winner was Casandra Hall, who took home a lucrative E80 000. The four rounds tournament was played at the Gary Player Country Club on Saturday. This was Dlamini’s first official tournament after eight months out of action. She had been out of action since March, 2020 after the suspension of sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament started on Wednesday with the final day on Saturday.

Defending

Dlamini was the defending champion of the tournament having been crowned champions in 2019 and 2018 while the tournament was played in the country at the Royal Swazi Golf Club. The male professionals were playing for E1.5 million. The tournament was moved to South Africa due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is dominated by South Africans. Nicole Garcia was second and she earned E50 000 with Dlamini coming third and receiving the E30 000 prize cheque. Stacy Bregman, who finished fourth, received E20 000 with the duo of Lejan Lewthwaite and Monique Smit each getting E10 000 for coming fifth and sixth respectively.
