MBABANE – The cat is out of the bag.

Former Manzini Wanderers player and manager Moses Khumalo will be heading the newly-installed Management Committee (MC).

It has been gathered by this publication that in the new-look MC, the position of chairperson, which was held by lawyer Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli in the recently disbanded MC, has been scrapped.

Instead, Khumalo will be heading the committee as the General Manager (GM)/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In the dissolved MC, the position of GM was held by Berger Nxumalo and that of CEO by the late Pat Mahlalela.

Informed sources have confided to this publication that Khumalo will be assisted by Doctor Simelane, who had been appointed as an assistant manager.

served

The assistant manager is also not new at the ‘Weslians’ as he served for some time within management before joining Red Lions.

According to the sources, former Chairman, Mdluli, will be bouncing back as the team’s legal advisor.

Other members of the disbanded MC, who are said to be forming part of the newly-appointed committee, include former Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini and former Treasurer Girly Johnson.

Former PRO Rueben ‘Rhoo’ Nxumalo is also linked with a return to the hub giants’ management committee.

Drawn for comment, Khumalo did not deny the news that he will be heading the new MC. However, he opted not to comment until it was announced official.

“There is nothing I can say for now until it is officially announced. Let it be announced officially and then I can comment not on rumours,” he said.

Meanwhile, Council of Elders’ Joe Nkumane said a new MC had already been installed, but will be announced officially during a press conference early this week, most likely today or tomorrow.

addressed

“There are a lot of things that need to be addressed now, the issue of directorship, recruitment and release of players as well as announcement of the new MC,” said Nkumane.

Meanwhile, the Council of Elders disbanded the club’s MC and National Supporters Committee (NSC) with immediate effect last week. This, Nkumane had recently deemed would happen to allow the new director to appoint his own people. This was during a press conference at Mountain Inn about three weeks ago.
