SITSEBE FACE COMOROS IN COSAFA OPENER

MBABANE – The national women’s senior team, Sitsebe, will kickoff their campaign in the COSAFA Women’s Championship against Comoros in South Africa.

The match will be played at Wolfson Stadium on November 3, starting at 12:30pm. Also featured in Group A will be a tasty tie between hosts, South Africa and Angola, who will clash at 3:30pm. Zambia will get their campaign underway on November 4, with a Group B meeting against Lesotho at 12:30pm, while Zimbabwe will kickoff their campaign against East African guest nation Tanzania later that day at 3:30pm. Botswana will have to wait until November 7 for their inaugural game.

Match

They will take on Tanzania at 12:30pm while Malawi have their first match on the same day against Lesotho at 3:30pm. The semi -finals will be played on November 12, with the winner of Group A going up against the victors in Group C. The finals will be held at Wolfson Stadium on November 14, starting at 3:30pm. Meanwhile, the COSAFA Women’s Under-17 Championship will be played as a single-pool round-robin competition featuring the five competing teams, though the sides that finish in the top two in the pool will contest in the finals.

Exposure

According to the fixtures released by COSAFA on Friday, the teams will play a minimum of four games during the November 4-14 event, providing much-needed international exposure for the players. Comoros and Tanzania will kickoff the tournament on November 4 at The Oval, starting at 12:30pm, while later on the day, South Africa host Zambia in a massive clash at 3:30pm. Zimbabwe will then enter the competition on November 6 against the South Africans, who follow this game up with a clash against Tanzania two days later before finishing their pool against Comoros on November 12. The finals of the competition will be at 11am on November 14 at Wolfson Stadium.
