SIDVOKODVO – He is simply the best.

That is professional golfer Raymond Mathonsi who cruised to a third victory yesterday during the two- day EPGA Monthly Tour sponsored by the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC). The 46-year-old finished with a total of 143 after playing 73 on Friday and 70 yesterday.

Coming second was Meshack Zwane, who finished with a total of 150 and third was Pater Dlamini with 154.  Mathonsi dedicated the victories to hard work. He said he was dedicated in his game and gives his full attention.

“I dedicate myself to my game and I’m happy that results have been positive. Golf is not an easy sport and you have to work hard to win. I’m happy that we are back in action and playing almost every month now and that will help improve our game,” he said.

Mathonsi took home a trophy plus E3 060, which is 43 per cent of the E9 000 in prizes. Runner-up Meshack Zwane pocketed E2 520 with third finisher Peter Dlamini getting E1 980 and Frans Strauss who finished fourth, received E1 440. Presenting the winners was ESRIC Marketing Manager Sizwe Shongwe, who congratulated the winners. ESRIC sponsored the tournament to the tune of E10 000 and the professionals will be playing each month until February next year. Meanwhile, Sifiso Vilane was the winner in the armatures category as he finished with a score of 155 and won a voucher of E800 with Nicholus Vilakati finishing second with 162.
