MBABANE – The plot thickens!

The transfer-wrangle of Eswatini international Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, which has led to not only his two-year suspension but also the ultimate relegation of Mbombela United from the GladAfrica Championship, took another twist yesterday when the player’s agent, Donald Aphane, called upon Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2 000’ Zwane to tell the whole truth on the transfer of the player to Mbombela United.

This is contrary to what the red and white outfit’s long-serving official told the listeners of Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS) morning Sports show on Monday. Zwane alleged that a Management Committee headed by Khaya Vilakati was responsible for the transfer of the player to Mbombela United.

docked

Mbombela United were relegated to the amateur league, ABC Motsepe after 23 points were docked following the South African Football Association (SAFA) Arbitration ruling for having fielded the player who had signed two contracts with TS Sporting and Mbombela United in one season. In a lengthy interview yesterday the player’s agent, Aphane of the Artist of Football Agency, appealed to the Swallows GM to speak the truth on the matter as he is fully aware of what happened with the transfer of the player to Mbombela United. “According to the arbitrator, Mbombela did back-date the contract of the boy to 2nd of January. I saw an article where Sandile complained about the agent. He wants to shift the blame. If the boy signed on January 2nd, the deal was done by Sandile. I took him to Free State Stars for trials on January 7. The same Sandile who is blaming the agent was there. If he had signed with Mbombela then, he should have told the agent then,” Aphane said.

Former Mbabane Swallows MC chairman, Khaya Vilakati, in a story published by this newspaper yesterday, also alluded to that he had nothing to do with the transfer of all the Swallows players who joined Mbombela United which include Ndzinisa, Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu and Felix Badenhorst.

“There are contrasting facts to what Sandile said. He wants to play the blame game because he doesn’t know the information. You must ask him, Sandile, why didn’t you tell the agent that the boy has already signed a contract with Mbombela United if indeed he signed on January 2. You Sandile, were supposed to refer the agent to Mbombela United. I am the one who took Pupu, Mkhweli to South Africa,” Aphane said.

Aphane said Ndzinisa signed with TS Sporting first, on May 24, 2019 and Mbombela United signed afterwards around July but then back-dated the contract to January 2.

clarity

“Sandile must tell the truth, not shift the blame to the people who were in office. He must give us clarity there. Why are you shifting the blame, Sandile?,” a hot-under-the-collar Aphane retorted.

Aphane said he did everything above board and he even helped Swallows get compensation for Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, who was left with a month on his contract and Sanele Mkhweli, who was left with three months before his contract expired.

Zwane, when called last night, declined to comment, only stating that the club president, Archbishop Bheki Lukhele will address the matter at the opportune time.

Efforts were made to contact Ndzinisa, who is at the eye of the raging storm, but inspite of repeated attempts, his mobile rang unanswered. The last call was made at 8:15pm.
