MBABANE – Mbombela United will come out guns blazing to turn over the two-year ban imposed on striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and the docking of 23 points from the club.

United were allegedly found guilty by the South Africa Football Association (SAFA) Arbitration and according to reports, a decision was made to dock 23 points and ban Ndzinisa for two years. The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is yet to officially announce a verdict on the case. The verdict means Mbombela United will be relegated to the ABC Motsepe Mpumalanga League with TS Sporting remaining in the GladAfrica Championships.

Finished

TS Sporting ended the GladAfrica Championship season in 15th place, below Mbombela United who finished 14th following the conclusion of the season on Sunday.

The former Mbabane Swallows striker is alleged to have signed a contract with TS Sporting before signing and playing for Mbombela United at the start of the ended season.

United Chairman Oupa Matsebula told kick-off that they would not be accepting the verdict that was issued in their case with TS Sporting and they were ready to take it to the court of law.

United and Ndzinisa were not represented during the sitting on Sunday and the matter went on with only TS Sporting represented. Having missed the arbitration sitting with SAFA on Sunday, Matsebula still insists they are not recognising the verdict.

“Only if you can see the contract they claim to have with the player, that’s why I’m saying we are still studying the outcome. We will see what we do. We are waiting for the advice on what will be the best option. It’s possible to take it to court.

“How can we show up if we are informed on a Friday that the sitting is on Sunday? What is the urgency when there is still two weeks left for the league to finish? We are not around, it’s Friday. Some of us have got jobs you know. They did everything on their own. We just informed them that we won’t make it on Sunday. I don’t understand how football works. It’s all nonsense,” Matsebula told kick-off.

He added that it was unfair to be sentenced without being represented.

PSL Prosecutor Nande Becker indicated that the verdict has already been reached and Matsebula might be swimming upstream. “I can tell you that the matter is finalised, the finding is in, and the sanctions are there as well. He (Matsebula) can do whatever he wants, if they are not recognising the verdict that’s a nice one.” Becker was quoted in the article published by Kickoff.com yesterday.

Allegations

Meanwhile, TS Sporting Chairman Slungu Thobela said they were not going to play in the ABC Motsepe League football next season. Thobela made some allegations that cannot be repeated. Ndzinisa was playing for Mbombela United with four other emaSwati players in Felix Badenhorst, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze, Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu and Justice Figuareido. Also in the technical bench for the Mpumalanga based outfit are Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina and Siyabonga Bhembe.

Ndzinisa signed for Mbombela United alongside Njabulo Ndlovu from Mbabane Swallows.
