MBABANE – It’s game on for professional golfer James Pennington, as he will tee-off in the E600 000 Titleist Championship tomorrow.

This will be his second tournament in the Sunshine Tour’s new Rise-Up Series, having competed in the African Bank tournament at Glendower Golf Club last week.

This is the third tournament on the Sunshine Tour’s new Rise-Up Series since golf was allowed to resume after five months suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Titleist Championship will be played over 54 holes at Pretoria Country Club from tomorrow to Friday.

Brand

Pennington, who is the brand ambassador of the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC), missed the first series as he was not able to make it through to South Africa due to the COVID-19 imposed  travelling restrictions. Pennington will be playing in one of the oldest golf courses in South Africa, having officially opened on October 8, 1910.

It is nestled in the scenic beauty of Waterkloof, one of the city’s most prestigious suburbs in Pretoria. Over the years it became a landmark in Pretoria.

Qualty

It is renowned for being a quality sports and social venue set in magnificent surroundings.

The golf course underwent a major redesign in 2004/2005 by the Gary Player Group and is currently rated in the Top 50 courses in South Africa.

Titleist is an official partner to the Sunshine Tour and also a strong supporter of the Tour’s development efforts through its annual donation of all the range balls used on tour to the South African Golf Development Board (SAGDB).
