MBABANE – They are now officially in the ‘Black Bull’ kraal. Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director (MD) Chief Ally Kgomongwe yesterday unveiled three new arrivals including former Mbabane Swallows’ midfielder Sibonginkosi ‘Gudas’ Dlamini along with Moneni Pirates’ midfielder Siphosethu ‘Mlilo’ Mlotsa and youngster Siwakhile Shongwe signed from Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows.

This happened at the team’s offices in Ezulwini where Kgomongwe was accompanied by senior official Benson Dlamini, secretary Space Jele and Public Relations Officer (PRO) Paul ‘Magidzeludzakeni’ Masilela among others. A clearly elated Kgomongwe could not hide his delight at the acquisition of the three players and promised that more new exciting signings were on their way.
bolstering
The Pretoria-based businessman minced no words in stating that he was looking at bolstering the Highlanders squad, assuring that they will soon be adding foreign players to their arsenal.
“We are happy to announce that the three players standing in front of you now officially belong to Highlanders. These are young talented players that have a bright future in the game and our intention is to keep them for a long time. We are presently working hard to get fresh foreign talent and will soon be making further announcement in that regard,” Kgomongwe told journalists present.

In separate interviews during their unveiling, the three players said they were happy to have signed for the black and white giants.
‘Gudas’ said joining Highlanders was a huge step for him in his career and promised to repay the faith shown in him by Kgomongwe.

privilege

“It is a privilege to play for a big team like Highlanders and I am happy to sign for them. I love football and it is now on me to prove that Highlanders did not make a mistake signing me. I am here to win trophies with Highlanders,” he said.
‘Mlilo’, on the other hand, said it pained him to part ways with Pirates, admitting that it was not an easy decision to make. “I had to think long and hard about this decision but in the end, my mind was made up. It has always been my dream to play for Highlanders because this is a team I grew up supporting. I am happy that I am now where I have always wanted to be and now I have to prove my worth,” he said. He pleaded with the Pirates’ supporters to accept his decision and not take it the bad way.
