EZULWINI - Eswatini international Felix Badenhorst has no contract worries at Mbombela United. The midfielder-turned forward has recently been linked with a return to Mbabane Swallows, the team that sold him to South Africa’s GladAfrica Championship side, Mbombela United. His contract was reportedly over with the Mpumalanga-based side.

“It’s a known fact that Swallows is my home and I would play for them any day but right now I am a Mbombela United player.  I have a contract to respect at Mbombela and I still have a season to go. I’m also well-looked after,” he explained.

He said it was his desire to play for Tingwenyama as Mbombela United are affectionately known, until he finished his contract next season.

Explained

Badenhorst also explained that if perhaps there was anything about returning to Swallows before the end of his contract next season, he knew nothing about it. “As a Mombela United player, I am currently waiting to go back to Nelspruit with my other colleagues. If Swallows perhaps talked to my team, then I’ll know when I’m in South Africa,” he explained.

Badenhorst insisted he was happy at Mbombela United. His other colleagues are Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, Justice Figuareido and coach Siyabonga Bhembe.

The group has already attempted to rejoin the team in Nelspruit but in vain due to some cross border challenges at the moment. Their return to South Africa is expected following that country’s government giving football the green light to resume competition. However, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) was yet to release its fixtures but the proposed date to resume play was July 18, essentially this weekend.
