MBABANE – The stint of former Matsapha United duo of Siphamandla Dlamini and Vusumuzi Zungu at Mbabane Swallows is set to be as short as a sneeze.

The duo, who signed one-year contracts, together with former Denver Sundowns hard working central midfielder Paito Dube, will not be retained by the red and white glamour side for next season, the Times Sports Desk has reliably gathered.
An informed source at Swallows told the Times Sports Desk that the contracts of the foreign trio expires at the end of the month and will not be renewed.

“After reviewing the performances of the players in the past season it was felt the trio’s contracts should not be renewed given each player’s contribution to the club.

Informed

“Obviously, they will be informed before the end of the week and whatever issues that are pending will then be settled. The team wishes them all the best in their future endeavours,” the source said.

The source further stated that besides the not-so-convincing performances, the steep salary for the duo of Zungu and Siphamandla, reportedly taking home E14 000 each, could be one of the underlying factors for the decision not to renew their contracts.

Mbabane Swallows Communications and Marketing Manager Mancoba Mabuza could only confirm that information pertaining to all contractual issues at the club are being handled by the office of the club President, Bheki Lukhele.
“There is no presidential communication concerning what you are raising and in the event, there are changes, a statement will be issued at the appropriate time.

As you might be aware, we are still on lockdown mode and all our players are at home and we are not yet in a position to pronounce on such matters,” he said.

Thanked

Mabuza then thanked the media efforts in keeping the nation informed even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
When the football season was suspended, the ‘Beautiful Birds’ were lying on second position on the MTN log standings, eight points behind table toppers, Young Buffaloes and were due to face Green Mamba in the quarter-finals of the EswatiniBank Cup.
